This is the second report in a series of discussion papers exploring factors that have led New Zealand to have a high incarceration rate, with this report focussing on youth offending (up to age 25 years). Data was sourced from the Ministry of Justice and the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI).

Purpose

This is a discussion paper with the purpose of using findings from current science to prompt informed reflection on issues related to youth justice in New Zealand.
