This research was undertaken to explore first time mothers’ experiences with feeding their infants. In some countries, such as the United States, evidence shows that overweight prevalence in infancy has increased in recent decades. It is possible that a similar growth trajectory is occurring in New Zealand, particularly in light of the high overweight/obesity prevalence among 2 to 4-year-olds here.
