Productivity is about using resources more efficiently. A better use of resources will deliver a wide range of benefits including higher incomes, better use of the environment and higher quality social services such as health and education.

The first step towards achieving higher productivity growth and delivering better economic, social, environmental and cultural outcomes for Māori, however, is to start generating an awareness of the centrality of productivity for the future of Māori.
