The 2007/08 New Zealand Alcohol and Drug Use Survey (NZADUS) measured self-reported alcohol, illicit and other drug use for recreational purposes, including consumption patterns, risk and protective behaviours associated with alcohol and drug use, harmful effects and help seeking, among the usually resident New Zealand population aged 16–64 years living in permanent private dwellings.
NZADUS involved face-to-face computer-assisted personal interview (CAPI) for the majority of the questions. Sensitive questions were completed by participants on laptop computer using an audio computer-assisted self-interview (A–CASI).
